FloorTiles 1.1 This is a Board Game Mactivity's CD-ROM nr 10 advice: This application did run on a b/w 68030 processor under System 7.1. It was also tested on a big ColorScreen of a PowerMacintosh running System 7.1.2. The game was also tested on a Quadra with 68040 processor and a 13 inch Color Screen and System 7.1 by Mactivity. The playing pieces in FloorTiles are tiles of 1 to 4 randomly selected colors (or patterns). You move your current tile with the mouse, and rotate it by pressing the space bar. You can place it in any open square on the board by clicking the mouse in that square. You receive points for each tile you place, the number of points depending on how quickly you place the tile. If you haven't placed a tile when the "points for this tile" timer runs out, that tile will automatically be placed in the nearest available square. The game is over when the board is full. Tiles disappear from the board when they are surrounded on 3 sides by matching colors. The more that disappear, the higher the score! The instructions to FloorTiles are in the program itself, under the Apple menu and also the Balloon Help menu if you have System 7. The file you're reading serves to fill in a few additional details. If you run FloorTiles on a monitor set to more than 256 colors, you will have to increase its memory allocation using the Finder's "Get Info" function. Set "minimum size" to 800K for 16 bit ("thousands") color, or 1300K for 32 bit ("millions") color. FloorTiles' default memory allocation is 500K, sufficient for monitors up to 256 colors. If you are playing a FloorTiles game, the game will automatically "pause" for you under various circumstances: If you switch to another application, or open a desk accessory, or if you leave the mouse motionless for a few tile/steps. This is an intentional feature. This program should run under System 6.0.3 and later, but it hasn't been tested with anything earlier than 6.0.7. It is fully compatible with System 7.
